On June 29, the overseas lecture--“The Resolution of Multi-Party Commercial Disputes by International Commercial Courts,Arbitral Tribunals,and Mediators” was held online.The lecture was delivered by Prof.Anselmo Reyes, an expert member of the Expert Committee of the International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court. Zhang Zhengyi,Deputy Head of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange,presided over the lecture.The students of SHUPL actively participated in the lecture.
Professor Anselmo Reyes explored the suitability of arbitration to resolve commercial disputes involving multiple parties. Professor Anselmo Reyes presented the problems that can be encountered when using arbitration to resolve multi-party disputes and suggested current possible solutions.Professor Anselmo Reyes then gave an in-depth look at the advantage of litigating through international commercial courts to resolve multi-party disputes. Finally, he summarized the future development and possible challenges of dispute resolution through mediation.
